Nia Sioux has been the token Black dancer on Dance Moms since 2011, and probably before that. She has been the underdog for five seasons straight – only getting ethnic inspired routines from Abby Lee Miller. Despite the constant comments of discouragement from her dance instructors Nia has only gotten stronger. All of the negative comments have inspired her to write songs like “Star in your own Life” and “Slay” self-empowerment anthems that came from a mere 13 year old.
It has been a pleasure watching Nia grow. You can watch Dance Moms on Tuesdays to watch Nia Sioux “Slay.” To read more TV/Movie reviews visit this guest blogger’s page: https://screenthisnotthat.wordpress.com/
